Jessica Simpson's first country album, 'Do You Know,' is due out on September 9, and now the ex-'Newlywed' is strutting her cowboy-inspired stuff on the cover of Elle magazine. The fall fashion issue, arguably the most important issue in the fashion biz, features Jessica in a red plaid top with low-slung jeans accessorized with a statement-making belt buckle.

In the cover story, the singer-actress says of beau Tony Romo: "Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart, but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He's the first person I've spiritually connected with."

The September issue of Elle will be available on August 11.
