Evan Taubenfeld declined an offer to study at Berklee College of Music, joined Avril Lavigne as lead guitarist on her road to success and is now set to find stardom on his own. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist recently visited the PopEater office to introduce himself, play a few tunes and show why his gregarious personality and catchy pop songs are already a hit with his crew of devoted fans, whom he considers to be family. "It's so hard to sing this early in the morning," Taubenfeld joked as he joined the staff around two o'clock in the afternoon. "Subtract six hours for musicians."

Avril Lavigne has postponed six west coast concerts on her "Best Damn Tour" due to acute laryngitis.

"My sincerest apologies to all of my fans," she said in a statement on Saturday. "My intention was to complete the rest of the tour, but tonight at sound check in Anaheim, I realized this wasn't possible.

"Even though I have been resting my voice for days," she continued, "when I tried to sing nothing came out."

If you had tickets to her shows in Anaheim, Universal City, Santa Barbara, San Jose, Spokane or Everett, refunds will be available at point of purchase today.
