Jessica Simpson's first country album, 'Do You Know,' is due out on September 9, and now the ex-'Newlywed' is strutting her cowboy-inspired stuff on the cover of Elle magazine. The fall fashion issue, arguably the most important issue in the fashion biz, features Jessica in a red plaid top with low-slung jeans accessorized with a statement-making belt buckle.

In the cover story, the singer-actress says of beau Tony Romo: "Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart, but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He's the first person I've spiritually connected with."

The September issue of Elle will be available on August 11.

To add to her towering empire, Jessica Simpson is now getting into the dress making business. According to WWD, the first collection of contemporary dresses from the pop star will hit stores in spring 2009. They will come out under the Jessica Simpson label, which already includes shoes, handbags, swimwear, eyewear and jewelry.

In addition to the clothing line and her successful Dessert products, the blond bombshell will also be launching a new fragrance called Fancy Jessica Simpson this fall.

Jessica Simpson is growing out of her pop roots and into country boots on her new album, 'Do You Know?'. Jessica Simpson is coming out with a new line of shoes for tweens! The singer-actress has teamed up with Stride Rite to come up with a cool collection of fun, fashionable kicks.

"Jessica Simpson's charisma, style, and values make her a role model and an inspiration to women and girls across America," said Pam Salkovitz, president of Stride Rite Children's Group.

As you know, Jessica already makes stylish shoes, but now you can get those looks in sizes that fit. But don't worry, there will also be designs that are exclusive to the Stride Rite collection. The new line will be in stores for the 2008 holidays and you'll be able to buy them in department stores as well as Stride Rite stores.
